Due to combination of high hardness, high strength and good toughness HARDOX® wear plate, produced by SSAB Oxelösund, is the obvious choice for applications in which wear had previously often given rise to problems. The high wear resistance of the plate increases the useful life of components such as tipper bodies, excavator buckets, crushing mills and similar equipment.

The hardness of the plate is achieved by effective quenching in water quenching line. This method enables high hardness to be achieved in spite of a low content of alloying elements in the steel. The resulting wear plate is easy to machine, bend and weld.

HARDOX® 400 and HARDOX® 450 are all-round wear resistant plates. Due to its high toughness, good bendability and weldability, the plates can also be used for load bearing duties in certain applications. HARDOX® 500 is a bendable and weldable abrasion resistant plate which is used in applications that demand higher wear resistance.
